A Closer Look

LINC is a transformative development project made possible by the leadership of the University of Massachusetts Lowell, the UMass Building Authority and the City of Lowell, with significant support from the Healey-Driscoll administration and the federal delegation.

Around 1.2 million square feet of mixed-use space is planned, with opportunities for industry partners to move into existing university space in Wannalancit Mills and 201 Cabot St. ahead of new construction.

    Incorporating green space, sustainable and inclusive design, and art (designed into LINC spaces to encourage city engagement) at a scale that co-exists with the city’s historic past.

    Major improvements are planned for the area’s roads, intersections, bridges, electric grid and wireless communication technology.
